ISO/IEC 22762:2022 is an international standard that defines the Micro QR Code symbology, a compact version of the QR Code designed for applications requiring a smaller symbol footprint. Micro QR uses only a single finder pattern — compared with the three finder patterns of a standard QR code — which reduces the space the symbol occupies. It supports versions M1 through M4 and is limited to error-correction levels L, M, and Q. By trimming overhead while preserving the core QR encoding approach, Micro QR allows data to be carried in constrained spaces such as small product labels and electronic components. ISO/IEC 22762:2022 provides the authoritative specification for generating and reading these compact codes, complementing the full QR Code symbology defined in ISO/IEC 18004.
